Starting in the 2011-2012 school year we will be offering preschool programs for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds.
3-year-old preschool meets M/W/F from 8:30 ’till noon. 4-year-old and 5-year-old preschool classes meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Our 5-year-old program meets or exceeds what is required for kindergarten.
Your child’s day will be filled with Bible, phonics, numbers, and they will work on many fine motor projects like coloring, cutting, tracing and playing with play-dough. Each class or motor skill activity lasts about 10 to 15 minutes and they will have a snack and recess mid-morning.
We use an intense phonics program with preschool through 2nd grade that begins with letter/sound recognition, and blending. Our preschool classes learn to blend consonants and short vowels, to make one sound instead of two, and to add a final consonant making a short word such as cat, hat, dog, etc. We try to take each child as far as he is ready.
Our math program is integrated in their daily lessons. Our Prekindergarten students learn to count to 10 (and beyond) and will know the concepts up to 20 such as what comes before and after, and which is larger and smaller.
An optional Enrichment Program is available from 12:00-3:30 and Afterschool care is offered for all students until 5:30 pm.
