Uniforms
At GICS our students wear uniforms. This is because we believe that our studnets are then free to focus on what's most important while at school: learning.

According to our school policy the following is acceptable wear:
All shirts for both boys and girls must have a collar and be tucked in at all times.
All slacks will be properly fitted. Shorts are not allowed more than four inches above the knee. Administration will make the final decision when shorts are no longer allowed to be worn to school because of extreme cold weather. During extreme cold weather girls will be allowed to wear stockings or hose underneath skorts, skirts, jumpers, or dresses.
Materials must be cotton blend e.g. cotton/twill,
cotton/polyester. No name brands may show on the pants. No double stitched seams. (No jean materials)
Skirts are to be knee length or longer. Skorts and shorts are to be no more than 4” above the knee.
Pants, Capri's, skirts, skorts, and shorts can only be worn in navy, khaki, or the Dennis plaid.
Short and long sleeve white button down Peter Pan collar shirts are worn by girls. All outer wear must be navy (e.g. sweatshirts, sweaters, sweater, vests, jackets, etc.) Exceptions: with the Dennis plaid skirts, wine colored sweaters can be worn. Turtle neck, short sleeve and long sleeve polo shirts colors remain the same: black, white, yellow, navy, green, and wine.
Color differences and style should not draw attention to the individual. Shirts must be tucked in unless they are made for wearing out.
Girls must wear a skirt or skort on Friday for Chapel and promotionals. Boys are to wear collared shirts and belts on Fridays and for promotionals.
Violations of standardized dress will be treated as a discipline matter.
Jackets or coats may not be worn in class. Any questions concerning dress requirements should be addressed to the principal.
Hats or caps may not be worn inside the school. Shoes of good repair must be worn at all times and shoelaces tied.
Boys are not allowed to wear earrings. Body piercing and tattoos are not allowed. Females may have ears pierced.
Boys hair is to be cut neatly and always out of the eyes and not past the bottom of the collar of the shirt. No ponytails of any kind are allowed. Girl's hair must be clean, neat and worn in a manner to be kept out of the eyes.
Make-up is limited to Junior High grades 7 – 8, light lipstick and mascara only. The two key words in a student's appearance are modesty and neatness.
